North Dakota Emergency Medical Services Association
These meetings are being held to share the challenges that our present EMS system is currently facing, and for numerous stakeholders to work together in identifying just how we can move forward and face these unique challenges. The North Dakota EMS System is not alone, EMS across the country is facing a number of challenges including; the decline in the largest subsidy (volunteer providers), funding, transport reimbursement, pending regulations, training, and the difficulty in transition to EMS integration into the healthcare system. The meeting has two purposes. The primary purpose is to gather input from stakeholders and the other purpose is to provide information to the public and other stakeholders on the challenges the EMS system is facing.
These meetings are considered vital to the EMS system in North Dakota. Therefore, attendance by at least 1 person from each funding area is required to be eligible for the 2017-2019 Funding Area Grant cycle. If you are unable to attend the meeting in your area, feel free to attend another meeting within the state. The ambulance service(s) in your area will be affected by the coming changes. Input is vital to the future of EMS in North Dakota.
