November NDEMSA Newsletter

From the President

Greetings Members!

Welcome to one of the best months of the year! November is a time when families start to come together and enjoy the start of the holidays to come. Having been in EMS for over 30+ years, I have missed many family functions over the holidays, but, have been blessed to make up for the lost time with my family and spend it with my second family…EMS.

I look forward to seeing many of you in the upcoming regional conferences and the annual rendezvous. All of these conferences will have some fine lecturers and excellent training topics. I encourage all of you to consider to attend these conferences if you hadn’t already chosen to.

With that said, many of you will miss out on family functions as well and I for one would like to tell of you to please enjoy your holidays, stay safe and make a difference!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Kelly Dollinger

From the Education Coordinator

Greetings fellow EMS providers,

The Association is now providing the fall Online EMR course. The course started on Sunday October 21 and will conclude on Saturday December 22. Upon completion of the course, students will be given a written and practical exam. Once they have become State certified, EMR’s they will have a one year free membership to the Association. Thank you to the students and to the sponsors who will be mentoring them.

The planning committee for the 2019 Rendezvous will be meeting this month in Jamestown. We will be starting to schedule speakers for this event. As of now, over 20 national speakers have sent in proposals. With more proposals arriving daily I expect that the planning on “Brain Day” will offer the “nice” problem of who do we choose. It looks like the Rendezvous is going to be another exceptional conference.

Phase II education (Sepsis, High Quality CPR and Documentation) is still being offered and will be until the end of November. Also we are still offering the Mission LifeLine Stroke education. If you have not received this education please contact me and I will get your service in touch with your educator. These classes are available to you free and at your hometown service.

Please don’t forget to mark your calendars for the three remaining Regional Conferences this winter.  You can find the dates and much more information on our web page.

Until next time, be safe and have a great Thanksgiving.
