Description of Course 

This class is ideal for paramedics, EMTs, and other EMS professionals with a solid foundation in emergency medical care and a passion for education.

The EMS Instructor Coordinator class is designed for experienced Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals looking to enhance their teaching and leadership skills. This course equips participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively train and mentor future EMS instructors.

In this course you will review:

Curriculum Development: Learn to create engaging, effective lesson plans that align with current standards and regulations.

Teaching Methodologies: Explore various instructional techniques tailored to different learning styles, including hands-on practice, simulations, and online learning.

Assessment and Evaluation: Gain skills in designing assessments that accurately measure learner competencies and provide constructive feedback.

Leadership in Education: Understand the role of an instructor coordinator in fostering a positive learning environment and mentoring new instructors.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on national and state EMS education standards, ensuring compliance in instructional practices.

Upon completion you should be able to:

Develop and deliver comprehensive EMS training programs.

Lead and support EMS instructor teams.

Implement best practices for assessing and enhancing learner performance.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification as an EMS Instructor Coordinator, qualifying them to lead EMS education initiatives and mentor new instructors within their organizations.

About the Instructor

Amy Kruger

Paramedic | Education Director

Metro Area Ambulance/ New Salem Ambulance

Amy is a passionate paramedic and education director with Metro Area Ambulance over 10 years of experience in the emergency medical services (EMS) field. She is dedicated to enhancing the quality of EMS training and ensuring that both current and future practitioners are equipped with the skills they need to provide exceptional care.

Throughout her career, she has implemented training programs that align with national and state standards. Commitment to education has not only improved learner outcomes but has also fostered a culture of continuous improvement within our organization.

During her time in EMS Amy has continued to also help support the community of New Salem as a paramedic and their training officer as well. She recently took on a role as New Salem City Emergency coordinator to help with the needs that New Salem could face in an emergency event.

When she’s not working, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, exploring North Dakota and looking for a new place to vacation to recharge for the next class or call that may happen.

 With a strong belief in lifelong learning, she continues to seek out opportunities for professional growth and development. Amy believes that learning is never done and everyday can give you a new experience.
