The SW conference in Medora is being held September 28-30th. Once again, the SW Board of Directors and the North Dakota Safety Council created an amazing line up.
The Friday preconference will be trauma/ triage using an active triage & table top exercise followed by 12 -lead interpretation.
Saturday morning opens with a discussion on opioids and “Walk in the Park”. The Walk in the Park presentation talks about the potential hazards of being outdoors regarding encounters with certain plants and animals. It will also share how to avoid these plants and animals and what first aid is needed to treat these situations. Other sessions presented on Saturday will be hemorrhage control, mental health, self-protection for Responders, humor in EMS, and culture of safety. Self-Protection for Responders is a hands-on course and attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable loose fit clothing.
Sunday, September 30, will consist of a BLS and an ALS track. The ALS track will consist of diabetes, difficult airway, and post resuscitation and ACS. The BLS track contains stroke, special health care needs, pediatrics and transport, neurological and seizures, VADs, at-risk populations, and roles of research.
